QUICK LINKS TO REGULATORY DOCUMENTS
The links below have been included to assist interested parties in the running of both internal and public events within the Bega Valley Shire.
The Event Management Guidelines highlight a number of key issues to consider when organising an event; however it is a guide only and does not cover every single issue that the event organiser might encounter. It remains the event organiser’s responsibility to identify all possible risks associated with the event, seek additional information where required and to ensure that all approvals have been obtained.
Access BVSC's comprehensive event guidelines document plus quick links to required regulatory forms.
Some events may require a formal development application (e.g. due to the erection of temporary structures, nature of the event and size) before they can be organised. Event organisers should check with Council to see if a DA may be required.
Use of Public Lands includes any event or activity that uses Council's footpaths, roadways, parks, sporting fields and other Council owned or managed land. If you want to run an event in one of these locations you need to apply to Council for the use of public land.
Special event organisers will need to demonstrate compliance with a number of requirements. Read the Special Event Approval Process & Guidelines (May 2020) here. The next step is to make a submission to the Local Traffic Committee (LTC).
